Ibadan is arguably the second most developed city in south western Nigeria after Lagos but unfortunately, the state of hygiene is far from impressive. The city is the largest capital in Nigeria and arguably the fastest growing city in Nigeria as at the time of independence. The University of Ibadan which was the first university in the country is a testament of the development of the city.Unfortunately, the development the city has garnered has not translated into the condition of hygiene and waste management in Ibadan. A survey by Naij.com’s photojournalist, Emmanuel Osodi showed areas where waste was disposed without consideration for hygiene. The roadsides, under the bridges, pdestrian ways, etc are some of the places overfilled with waste.
